About us

MK21 is a fast-paced and young design and marketing agency. The long island iced tea of agencies, we’re made up of a small team with diverse skill sets that comes together to make something strong.

Our major focus is helping brands make the most of themselves, but that manifests itself in often very different ways. From straight up branding, social marketing, activations, editorial, UI & UX to name a few. Variety is indeed the spice of MK21.

Some of our current clients include:

Gü Puds, Urban Fruit, Crackd The No-Egg-Egg, BEAR, Purely Organic, Landsec.

This role will round out a team of four. That team will consist of this role, another designer, a junior designer and the creative director.

The role

We’re looking for a super-hungry, talented Midweight Creative/Designer with a few years experience who wants to create exceptional work across a range of disciplines.

Working as part of a small design team, you’ll have a hand in ideating and executing fresh creative that pushes the boundaries of the brief. You’ll be working alongside the creative director as well as a small team of designers, strategists and marketers across a range of clients and mediums. If you’re looking to sit there day after day completing the same briefs or spending weeks just in IND – sorry, we haven’t got the role for you.

You’ll know your way around the Adobe creative suite, and hopefully the words ‘webflow’, ‘figma’ and ‘this project would be great with some motion work’ don't make you head for the back button. You’ll be expected to receive briefs from clients, interpret what they need, present ideas back to them and, of course, execute.

We’re excited for this position. We’re a small agency but growing – and one that’s having an increasingly big impact in our clients lives.

What We Expect
  • Skills Required

  • Demonstrable design skills with a strong portfolio across a range of outputs.
  • Ability to apply creativity to deliver problem solving solutions and overcome project challenges with a high attention to detail.
  • Able to receive a brief, analyse and solve independently.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years design experience.
  • Good organisational skills, both in balancing the requirements of a range of projects and practical organisation itself.
  • Good oral, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. With knowledge of XD, Figma or Sketch.
  • Flexible and enjoy working in a high pace, fast moving and changing environment.

  • Understanding our clients and their business needs, and helping their business succeed through the application of your skills and knowledge.
  • Heading the creative output for smaller projects.
  • Active involvement in the development of concepts and ideas, articulating these effectively to colleagues and clients.
  • Ensuring that your work is on time and on budget and at the high standards expected of MK21.
  • Support and encourage more junior colleagues.
  • Using strategic insights and data (where appropriate) to inform your processes and practice, crafting well structured rationale to support recommendations.
  • Communicate with colleagues and clients in a clear, structured and concise manner through appropriate channels and technology.
  • Contributing to our culture, the evolution of the team and thus the wider transformation of MK21.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and new technologies.

Working remotely:

  • Currently, because of COVID-19 all staff are working remotely. Once the current situation has subsided, we will return to the office on a flexible basis. You won't be required to come into the office every day, but we will expect 2-4 days a month. Of course, you would also be free to come in every day if you would prefer. We're still big fans of the culture the office provides and the bonding we get as a team, but having to spend every day in the office is a little 2019.

COVID-19 precaution(s):

  • Remote interview process.
  • Virtual meetings.

The Solution

Why MK21?

Small but growing team.

Keen involvement across entire projects is important to us, and outside expertise lets us scale up when we need to and lets us work with other amazingly talented individuals.

Integrated Culture.

Being a small team, culture is important to us. We keep a flexible attitude to work, and if it's not fun it's not working.

Goliath ambitions, David attitude.

There's no denying it, we like to think big and want to go bigger. But, that doesn't mean inflated project timelines and budgets. We're here to work smarter, not harder.

Big impact.

Being a small team, everyone has the chance to have a big impact on anyone project. We expect everyone to pitch in when the time calls for it – we're more 'we're all in the same lane' than 'stay in your own lane'.
